Please join us for a special performance of Amiri Baraka's DUTCHMAN, directed by Rashid Johnson and co-produced by Performa. DUTCHMAN originally premiered at The Cherry Lane Theatre in 1964. For one night only, Johnson brings back this piece to its original home as a tribute to the playwright that inspired his work. This performance is in concert with A POEM FOR DEEP THINKERS, Johnson's retrospective at the Guggenheim whose title is taken from one of Baraka's poems.

The role of Lula will be played by Tori Ernst, and the role of Clay will be played by Jerod Haynes. Directed by Rashid Johnson.

Mike: Band of the Century LIVE

For the first time in front of a live audience, MIKE presents the Band of the Century. Previously only appearing on NPR's Tiny Desk, the band brings a total reimagining and dynamic to MIKE's music. Exclusively for 3 intimate nights at Cherry Lane Theatre in MIKE's hometown of NYC, the Band of The Century will perform a set spanning MIKE's vast catalog, including many songs past what the band played on Tiny Desk. To coincide with the show, limited Band of the Century vinyl and merchandise will be available.

Founded in 1923, Cherry Lane Theatre is New York’s oldest Off-Broadway Theater and has come to be known as “The Birthplace of Off-Broadway.”
