DAY 85: Actor David Zayas

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx, this talented actor served in the Air Force, then protected the streets as one of New York City's finest before finally realizing his dreams as an actor...first downtown in Stephen Adly Guirgis pieces, particularly JESUS HOPPED THE A TRAIN at LAByrinth Theater Company(where he is an original member), and finally uptown on Broadway in Nilo Cruz's TONY NOMINATED and Pulitzer Prize winning ANNA IN THE TROPICS. Television loves him too... he made a big splash as Enrique Morales, the prison boss of HBO's OZ...and on the other side of the iron bars as Angel Batista inShowtime Networks' DEXTER. But don't pigeon-hole him into those serious roles because this guy can play ANYTHING. In fact, David's CURRENTLY starring in the new George Lopez comedySaint George on FX (TUNE IN TONIGHT at 9:00pm!!). Not to mention a pretty dangerous poker player. Check out his birthday wishes to hear about the first play he ever saw at Cherry Lane, and the way he feels EVERY time he leaves our playhouse.
