DAY 60: Costumes/Wardrobe Courtney Irizarry & Stage Manager Renee Alexander
Where would we be without these two lovely ladies quietly piloting the ship behind the scenes? For every performance of Charles Fuller's One Night..., they made sure our actors were pressed, dressed, and right on cue.
Whether she's designing them herself, cutting and sewing the pieces to realize that design, or keeping all of the garments in ship-shape for a show - Courtney is ALL about the Costumes. She's costume designed multiple productions for The Storm Theatre Company (ANTIGONE, among others) and helps create the stunning pieces on Broadway as part of the Euroco costumesteam. And what show could stay afloat without a stage manager at the helm? Renee has certainly earned her stripes, with creds from as far away as Greece and the Philippines, as resident stage manager of Arena Stage for 5 years, not to mention all of the productions she's stage managed at a host of Off-Broadway and regional houses.
Thanks for the smooth sailing, ladies! And for this short and sweet birthday message.
