What is the Cherry Lane Theatre?

We are New York’s oldest, continuously running Off-Broadway theater, and have served the New York cultural community for eighty years. We are a non-profit organization, and it is our goal to be a vital lab for the development of new American works and to cultivate a diverse, multigenerational audience. We believe the playwright is central to the dramatic event and that the text is intrinsic to theatrical innovation and excellence. Click here for our production history.
